Gepps Cross Futsal Club has climbed to the top of the State Futsal League South Australia standings after a 2-1 victory over a determined North Adelaide Futsal Club.
Michael Gideye returned from injury and Adrian Kiratidis played his first match since the Round 1 victory over the Adelaide Hurricanes, but young gun Caleb Evans was unavailable.
The first half saw us fall behind early. Some scrappy defending and persistent attacking hustle saw North Adelaide through on goal, finishing with a tidy shot between the keepers legs. But we controlled the match from that moment on and were rewarded with a Danijel Lazic goal shortly after.
A Dejan Hercegovac strike saw us take the lead with less than a minute to go before the break.
Chances were aplenty and we could've gone into the half further ahead if it weren't for the heroics of goalkeeper Hamzah Ahmadi. The North Adelaide No.1 put in a stellar performance between the sticks all match.
The second half saw us dominate possession but with no reward as both teams were unable to add to the scoresheet.
