MATCH REPORT: ROUND 3

Gepps Cross Futsal Club returned to the winners list after victory against Khurasan Blair Athol FC in a see-sawing affair.

Our men controlled the first half and had a comfortable two goals to zero lead at the break thanks to a brace from Haris Vuckic. Khurasan came out the stronger of the two teams in the second period and scored three unanswered goals to take the lead midway through the half.

But we hit back. Andrej Rastovac, Caleb Evans and Dejan Hercegovac added to our tally as we wrestled back the lead.

Khurasan opted to play the flying keeper tactic for in the final stages of the game and it paid off. Ali Abbasi scoring through traffic to pull his team back to within a goal. An important double save from Goalkeeper Caleb Odzak kept our lead in tact before Rastovac iced the game in the dying seconds, sealing victory with his second goal of the game. The final score, 6-4.

Adrian Kiratidis missed the match due to personal commitments whilst Michael Gideye was absent due to injury.
