A hat-trick from Logan Mcfall has sunk Gepps Cross Futsal Club in our Round 10 clash against the Adelaide Wolves.
With Haris Vuckic & Adrian Kiratidis unavailable, Gepps Cross controlled the first period to take a 2-0 lead into half time.
Caleb Evans opened the scoring for the Knights with a tidy finish before Dejan Prso fired home a free kick. Wolves had their chances to get on the scoresheet but some tidy saves from Knights Goalkeeper Caleb Odzak and some errant shooting sent them into the break goalless.
Wolves player Logan Mcfall channelled his inner Magikarp at half time and evolved from being useless into God tier in the second half. Just like his Pokemon counterpart, Mcfall put on the waterworks after being teased for missing a shot in the first half, but rallied to provide the spark his team needed as they completely dominated the second half.
Gepps Cross had their chances to extend the lead, but legendary Goalkeeper Danyon Loud pulled off some impressive saves to keep his side in the match, before Logan banged in two goals to level the score with less that ten minutes remaining.
Wolves team manager Diaz Obieglo, desperately trying to impress his former teammate Caleb Odzak, came out of his 3 game retirement to net a crucial goal that put Wolves into the lead late in the game.
at 3-2, A controversial but obvious handball in the box was missed by the referees who then refused to go to VAR to check the decision. Club owner Lewis Pounentis acknowledged that referees do make mistakes and only had nice things to say about the match officials after the game.
Your Knights adopted a flying goalkeeper approach in the final stages of the game but to no avail, as Wolves managed to score a fourth into an open net.
Logan Mcfall completed his hat-trick and man of the match performance in the dying seconds, converting a 10m penalty after the referees finally decided to award a free kick for what was a blatant handle by Dejan Prso, proving that they can in fact see obvious handballs.
Former Knights Captain and muched beloved character Nicholas Rotolo also participated in this game, but you would be forgiven for not noticing as he didn't contribute anything to the Wolves team.
