Gepps Cross Futsal Club has gone down to a well organised Prospect team 6-3.
Prospect started strong and dominated possession early, taking the lead through a deflected shot. Jack Tamkin added a second with a strong strike from distance before the team scored a third via another deflection to end the half 3-0 ahead.
The second half saw our boys fight back and level the game. Danijel Lazic scored his first goal for the club with a tidy front post finish off a corner. Michael Gideye pegged back one more before Dejan Prso equalised.
With the match in the balance, Prospect earned themselves a penalty kick with a well rehearsed dive but Goalkeeper Caleb Odzak was equal to the task, saving the penalty and restoring justice.
It wasn't to be though, with Prospect scoring three more in quick succession. The final five minutes saw us resort to a flying keeper but we were unable to add to our score.
Haris Vuckic was missing due to illness whilst Adrian Kiratidis missed due to family reasons. Michael Gideye suffered a knee injury during the match and although he managed to play out the game, he will be touch and go for our Round 3 clash against Khurasan Blair Athol.
